Join me as we dive into the fascinating world of Jordan Rogers, an adventurer, and uncover the experiences that shape his journey!
Jordan, so what are you doing here in Puerto Vallarta? I recently moved
back, this February, to help my mom out. I was born and raised here, and my
family is from here.
"Where did you live before and after moving away? I first lived in Calgary, Alberta, and then in Vancouver. What were you doing in Vancouver?"
After expressing his initial reasons for moving to Vancouver, Jordan elaborated on his experience. "I wanted to go live there for a year and see how it felt," he explained. When asked about his impressions he shared, "It's a gorgeous city, but I wasn't a huge fan." When probed further about his sentiments towards the city, he expressed, "It's Canada. Yeah, I mean, the city itself doesn't have a ton to offer." Jordan's candid assessment highlighted his desire for a more fulfilling environment that aligned with his interests and expectations.
In Vancouver, Jordan observed a trend among residents seeking to escape the city for more outdoor and active pursuits. "People that live there are trying to get out of the city," he noted. "They head up to Whistler or Squamish, or even venture into the states for more hiking and active experiences." This desire for nature and adventure contrasted with the city's high cost of living relative to its offerings.
When asked about his profession, Jordan shared, "I work in digital marketing." Curious to learn more, he was prompted to explain the intricacies of digital marketing. "It involves leveraging online platforms to promote products or services," he elaborated. "Given that you own a blog, you might find digital marketing strategies useful for reaching and engaging with your audience effectively." This exchange shed light on Jordan's professional expertise and provided valuable insights for integrating digital marketing practices
Will "I'm trying to increase viewership. Digital marketing is about raising awareness online."
Jordan "I work primarily as a contractor with an agency, focusing on systems and automations. This involves data management, reporting, and building systems for various campaigns, such as email or text campaigns."
How did you get into that field? "Some family friends own an agency, and i started with them doing SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
So, nepotism?" "haha, you have to start somewhere, right?" "What do you like about it?" "I like the freedom it gives me. I work remotely, making US dollars in Mexico." "So you can work from anywhere in the world?" "Yeah, I've spent a year in Europe and a year in Asia, just traveling around." "What do you like about working remotely, especially in terms of travel and wellness?" "It's beyond just the freedom mentally its being able to work your own hours and be your own boss, which is a bit of a double-edged sword."
Because it does require a lot of discipline and consistency. Going back and looking at your experiences living in Mexico, Vancouver, Europe, and Asia, what was the most significant aspect of all your travels that draws you back? It has to be the people and culture. Living among a broad variety of cultures, ethnicities, and traditions really opens your eyes to the nature of life and teaches you valuable lessons."
"It's like looking at things less in terms of right and wrong, and more about appreciating that everyone is different. It's about respecting other cultures along the way. What was your favorite part of Europe? What city?" "In Europe? Probably Budapest. I really liked Budapest."
"All right. I also really loved Krakow. What was your favorite part of Asia?" "Asia? That's a tough question."
"My favorite part of Asia is also what I find most challenging: the cultural and traditional differences. On one hand, I love the adventure and the opportunity to immerse myself in such diverse and rich cultures. It's fascinating to experience the unique customs, foods, and ways of life that each place offers. On the other hand, these differences can sometimes be overwhelming, as they require a lot of adaptation and open-mindedness. However, it's precisely this blend of excitement and challenge that makes traveling in Asia so rewarding for me."
"Yeah, I love being there for a time, but I wouldn't want to live there permanently or settle down. It's a wonderful place to visit and explore, offering endless adventures and cultural experiences, but it's not where I see myself long-term. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with me, Jordan! It's been fascinating to hear about your travels and insights. I'm sure our readers will be just as inspired by your stories as I am. Looking forward to seeing where your next adventure takes you!"
"I want to thank you very much for this short interview! As I was walking by, I noticed you savoring your cup of coffee and jotting down notes, and I felt compelled to seize the moment and strike up a conversation. It's not every day you meet someone with such intriguing stories and experiences! I’ll leave you in peace now, but I truly appreciate your time and insights. Who knows what adventures await you next? Enjoy the rest of your day, and may your travels continue to inspire!"
"Jordan, do you have any last words of wisdom for someone
"Absolutely! Embrace every opportunity to learn from those who have come before you. Their experiences can provide valuable insights that you won't find in books or online. Don't be afraid to ask questions and seek advice. And remember, while it's important to chase your dreams, it's equally vital to stay grounded and appreciate the journey. Life is about balance—so explore, take risks, but also take the time to reflect and connect with those around you. Keep an open mind, and you'll find that every conversation can lead to new adventures!"
